What would be our life if our eyes were taken off or we were pinned to a wheelchair? Every time I meet such people, I ask myself how I would feel in their place. Probably will not last even a few days. Fear of the dark is completely justified, especially if it is a daily life for man. Every day he faces a number of obstacles, even as he comes out of his own home. Infrastructure in our country is not adapted for people with disabilities and they can not use it safely. Therefore, their communities are encapsulated and excluded from society. Their problems are always at the forefront of the authorities’ programs. We meet with the social entrepreneur Evgeni Mitev, who has undertaken the difficult task of helping people with visual impairments. One of the initiatives in which he is involved is German and is called „Dark Dialogue“. Here’s what he told us about her:
It all started in 2014 when I visited an event for social entrepreneurship in Strasbourg. There I saw a room in which she entered and was completely obscured. She was writing a dialogue in the dark. I was inside with five other strangers, led by a blind man. We gave out our white canes and we walked through an entrance that made a full turn. Several tasks followed. We were trying to get the job done in the conditions of total vision exclusion. It was out of the comfort zone. When I went outside I spoke to people and it turned out to be one of the first and most sustainable social enterprises in Europe. It is called „Dialogue“ and has begun with „Dark Dialogue“ – events organized and led by the blind. There are already other formats such as „Dialogue of the Silent“ for deaf and „Dialogue with Time“ where the guys are people over 80 years old.
In 2015, Evgeni and his team have the opportunity to develop this project in Bulgaria. In four cities, they hold meetings in the dark with people from different backgrounds in the community – actors, musicians, entrepreneurs, representatives of municipalities. The roles turn to them. The sightings become blind and leave their intuition entirely. In 2016, however, the license expired but they continue to develop in the field of social entrepreneurship. It will include blind and visually impaired people, says Mitev, adding:
Our goal is to create jobs for visually impaired people, to encourage them to be self-sufficient and proactive. This is the reverse movement towards the attitude that the state has towards disabled people. Labels are placed on them and viewed as unequal. But they have many talents and need support to develop them. The talents we will develop in a small group of people will be focused on sound engineering, sound engineering, audio engineering and audio decryption. It’s like sound subtitles. Soundtrack is an additional channel in which a voice behind a frame explains to the blind what is happening in a given scene in the movie. In Europe, the issue of accessibility and opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in cultural life is becoming more and more relevant. Working with people with disabilities requires a lot of patience, and the results do not always come right away. This, however, should not deny those who have dedicated themselves to the cause of making their lives a little better arranged and safe. These people are part of us and deserve respect and support.{:}{:de}Geschichten im Dunkeln Autor: John Kolev

Il nostro obiettivo è quello di creare posti di lavoro per le persone con problemi visivi, per incoraggiarli ad essere autosufficienti e proattivi. Questo è il movimento inverso verso l’atteggiamento che lo Stato ha nei confronti dei disabili. Le etichette vengono poste su di loro e viste come diseguali. Ma hanno molti talenti e hanno bisogno di sostegno per svilupparli. I talenti che svilupperemo in un piccolo gruppo di persone saranno focalizzati su ingegneria del suono, ingegneria del suono, ingegneria audio e decodifica audio. È come sottotitoli. Soundtrack è un canale aggiuntivo in cui una voce dietro un telaio spiega al cieco cosa sta succedendo in una determinata scena del film. In Europa, la questione dell’accessibilità e delle opportunità per le persone con disabilità a partecipare alla vita culturale sta diventando sempre più rilevante. Lavorare con le persone con disabilità richiede molta pazienza ei risultati non vengono sempre immediatamente. Questo, però, non dovrebbe negare a coloro che si sono dedicati alla causa di rendere la loro vita un po ‘meglio disposti e sicuri. Queste persone sono parte di noi e meritano rispetto e sostegno.{:}
